Sunderland Women Complete the Signing of Kassandra Missipo

Sunderland Women have signed Belgium international Kassandra Missipo on a two-year deal from Serie A side Sassuolo.

The midfielder has earned over 60 caps for her country, played a key role in the squad that reached the quarter-finals of EURO 2022, and also helped Belgium secure qualification through the play-offs for EURO 2025.

She won the Belgian Super League with Anderlecht and the Cup twice with Gent, was with Basel as they finished sixth in the Swiss top flight, and then at Sassuolo as they matched their best-ever position of fourth in Serie A.

Missipo told safc.com: “I am very proud to be here and to sign for Sunderland. I have played in Switzerland and Italy, and those experiences were important steps in my career. Now, this step is about passion, quality and continuing to move in the right direction. I believe it is the right move for me. I am really looking forward to working with this new group, and I am excited about what’s to come this season.”
