Sticker Make a Strong Comeback as Cornwall League Champions

Sticker won the Earthbound Electrical Cornwall League to bounce straight back to the regional level, where they will be joined by St Agnes and Newquay.

Topping the Premier Division after winning all but one of their games, Sticker finished five points ahead of runners-up St Agnes, whom they beat 2-1 in a thrilling title decider with goals from Gwen Olsen and Amber Hadrill.

Newquay were a further three points behind in third, with all the top three securing promotion to the South West League Division 1 South.

While Sticker clinched an immediate return to the sixth tier, St Agnes go up after twice being champions in the previous two seasons and Newquay completed back-to-back promotions.

St Agnes thrashed Sticker 6-0 in the Premier Division Cup Final, with braces from Jordana Pardoe and Lillianne Tucker, while Newquay claimed the Masons Kings League Cup with a 3-1 win over Kilkhampton.

FXSU (Falmouth Exeter University Students Union) were Division 1 champions by a single point over Callington Town, with Wadebridge Town taking third place.

The Division 1 Cup Final saw Ludgvan come out on top 3-2 over Wadebridge Town, despite finishing 10 points short of them in the league table.

Porthleven pulled off the Division 2 double, topping the league by an impressive 13 points and winning 6-1 in the cup final.

They only failed to win once, with Charlestown left a distant second in the table, closely followed by Falmouth in third, while Charlestown also finished as runners-up in the cup.
