Bristol City were 2-0 winners over fellow WSL2 side Newcastle United at Ashton Gate.
Ella Powell fired Bristol City ahead midway through the first half, a second goal soon followed as Rio Hardy whipped in a cross for Maria Farrugia to sweep home.
Another Hardy delivery before the break almost produced a third goal but Lexi Lloyd-Smith hit the crossbar.
Fran Bentley pulled off a great save to thwart Molly Pike and keep a clean sheet.
