Southampton FC Women have made the signings of midfielder Laura Hughes from Melbourne City and goalkeeper Grace Moloney from Sunderland.
Hughes represents Wales but was previously capped by Australia, where she recently helped Melbourne do the double as they made it a hat-trick of first-place finishes in the regular A-League season.
She earlier had two spells with Canberra United and spent a year in-between with Icelandic side Þróttur.
Hughes told southamptonfc.com: “I’ve wanted to play in England for a long time, it’s a really competitive league so I’m looking forward to that new challenge with Southampton.”

Joining from Sunderland, Grace Moloney, a Republic of Ireland player, made her first competitive appearance for her country in an important Euro 2022 qualifier against Germany.
She made over 80 appearances in the WSL with Reading and spent time on loan at Aston Villa and London City before making a permanent move to the Lionesses in 2023.
