The Sky Sports Cup Final will return to Fir Park on Sunday 29 March, after more than 4,000 fans attended last year’s flagship SWPL game.

With the semi-finals matches scheduled to be played across this weekend live on BBC ALBA, the final promises to be a thrilling encounter regardless of the match-up, as last year’s cup finalists and league champions Hibernian take on current league leaders Glasgow City in the first semi-final match at Meadowbank Stadium on Saturday 31 January (5.15pm), while current Sky Sports Cup holders Rangers host Celtic, who are currently sitting second in the ScottishPower Women’s Premier League in the second semi-final match at Broadwood Stadium on Sunday 1 February (1.40pm).

Tickets for the Sky Sports Cup Final will be available from 3pm on Monday 2nd February and information on how to purchase tickets can be found via the SWPL website. Pricing is set at £12 for an adult, £5 for a concession and £30 for a family ticket (two adults and two concessions).

Fiona McIntyre, Managing Director, SWPL said: “We are delighted to confirm that this year’s Sky Sports Cup Final will take place at Fir Park on Sunday 29th March. We’re also really pleased to return to Fir Park for a second consecutive year, to build on the incredible support and atmosphere generated by supporters’ last season. The Sky Sports Cup Final is always a showcase event in our calendar, and we look forward to welcoming even more supporters to what I’m sure will be another memorable day.

“We would like to thank Sky Sports and Motherwell FC for their support as we plan towards, what we anticipate will be, another fantastic occasion for women’s football in Scotland.”

Gary Hughes, Director of Football, Sky Sports said: “As the UK’s home of women’s sport, we’re committed to showcasing the very best of the domestic game, and the Sky Sports Cup Final is a standout moment in the SWPL calendar.

“We’re proud to work closely with our valued partner, the SWPL, to bring exclusive live coverage of what promises to be another thrilling Final at Fir Park.”

Brian Caldwell, Chief Executive Officer, Motherwell FC said: “We’re delighted to be hosting the Sky Sports Cup Final again this year.

“Last year was a resounding success and an excellent opportunity for people in and around the Motherwell area to come down to Fir Park and take in the match. It was a brilliant occasion, and we’re hoping by hosting it once again, we can draw more people to come and watch the women’s game.

“The women’s game is continuing on an upward trajectory here in Scotland. It’s something we want to be a part of.”
