Sheffield United Women sign Tammi George from Wolves

Sheffield United's latest signing, Tammi George

Sheffield United sign Tammi George from Wolves, penning a one-year deal with an option of a further year to 2027.

The energetic midfielder had been with the West Midlands side since she was 13, barring a year in the Tottenham Hotspur academy, before she returned to Wolves in 2021.

That year, George was a key part of the team which won the FA WNL Northern Premier Division but was denied promotion after a play-off loss to Southampton.

She made over 150 appearances for Wolves and last season her goals from midfield made double figures.

George said: “I’m really happy to be here. I’m looking forward to the season ahead and what it brings. It’s so crazy, so different for me, but it’s exciting. I’ve been in Tier 3 for so many seasons, gained a lot of experience, now just felt right to make that step.”

Head coach Ash Thompson commented: “I’m delighted Tammi will be taking her first steps into professional football with Sheffield United. Over a number of years at Wolves she showed herself to be one of the best midfielders in the FA Women’s National League, and I’ve no doubt she has both the qualities and experience to step into the Barclays Women’s Super League 2 and be a valuable addition for us both on and off the field when the new season gets under way.”
