Scotland Women secured a 5-1 victory over Israel in World Cup qualifying at Bozsik Aréna in Budapest, edging out Belgium on goal difference to earn promotion to League A.

Caroline Weir needed only 16 minutes to add to her hat-trick in Friday’s first fixture against Israel and Jenna Clark doubled the lead with a finish from a set-up by Kathleen McGovern.

Vital Kats scored for Israel just before the hour mark, but a handball in the box led to Weir converting from the spot.

Amy Muir provided the assist as Weir dramatically completed another treble off the underside of the bar.

Weir added her fourth in the 90th minute in a successful battle to keep ahead of rivals for the top spot, Belgium, who were thrashing Luxembourg.

Scotland now await the World Cup qualifying play-off draw on 18 June to discover who they will face in their first round and potential second-round ties.
