Scotland got off the mark in their last UEFA Women’s Nations League game with a much improved performance at group runners-up the Netherlands
Jill Roord scored for the Dutch after 10 minutes in Tilburg, finding the top corner from Danielle van de Donk’s cross after her initial effort was blocked.
Following a save by Lee Gibson, Scotland broke away and Emma Lawton’s cross was volleyed home by Kathleen McGovern for her first goal in just her second cap.
Roord put a great chance wide in the last ten minutes, Kirsty Howat had a chance at the other end but Daphne van Domselaar blocked with her boot.
Martha Thomas was clean through but was denied by the trailing leg of Van Domselaar, before beating the keeper to a ball only for it to drop over the bar.
