Rangers Women Storm to Thrilling Old Firm Victory

Rangers Women handed Celtic a 5-2 defeat, making it six wins from six at the top of the ScottishPower SWPL.

Rangers moved three points clear of Celtic at the top of the table after winning the derby clash.

Maria McAneny opened the scoring for Celtic but a quick first-half Jodie McLeary double turned the match around.

Chloe Arthur levelled after the break, but Rangers took control with three goals in the space of 10 minutes.

Hannah Blake scored straight off the bench, Katie Wilkinson curled home a free kick, and Calliste Brookshire made it 5-2.

Glasgow City retrieved a two-goal deficit late on to draw 2-2 away at Hearts.

Emily Gray’s effort and then Jesi Rossman’s equalizing strike from distance cancelled out goals by Mariana Speckmaier and Kayla Jardine, as Hearts stayed third in the table, Glasgow City slipped to fifth.

Hibernian moved up to fourth with a 2-0 victory at Aberdeen.

Libby Smith opened the scoring and the lead was doubled with an own goal from Selin Cemal.

Partick Thistle scored three times in six second-half minutes to pull off a comeback win over Montrose.

The basement side had taken a 2-0 lead through Hannah Stewart and Georgia Carter, but Abby Robinson sparked the fightback after the hour mark, and Sienna McGoldrick completed it with a quick brace.

Spartans took the points 2-0 at Motherwell with two goals after the interval.

Niamh Noble made the breakthrough and Olivia Hurrell sealed the victory with two minutes left of the 90.

Boroughmuir Thistle surprisingly dropped points for the first time this season at home to eighth-placed St Johnstone.

A penalty from Holly Aitchison put Thistle ahead, but a late equaliser from Emily Shanks earned the visitors a good point.

Kilmarnock won 3-1 against 10-player Hamilton, moving within a point of the leaders.

Second-half goals from Louise Cowan and Cara Gray secured all three points, with Laura McLaughlin’s opener being replied to by Accies’ Dara Ositelu, despite the dismissal of a teammate.

Queen’s Park thrashed Falkirk 5-1 to leapfrog them into third spot.

All the goals came by half-time, featuring a brace from Rebecca McAllister.

Ellie Kane, Nicole Cairney, and Summer Thomson also found the net for the Spiders, with Lucia McIntyre pulling Falkirk back into it at 2-1.

Gartcairn climbed to fifth with a 3-1 comeback victory over Renfrew.

Becky Downs opened the scoring for the visitors, but goals from Clare Docherty, Sarah Jane Arr, and Rebecca Simpson turned the tide.

Livingston are off the bottom after claiming their first point by sharing six goals with Dundee United.

They took a 2-0 lead through Kaitlyn Canavan’s double, but the game was turned on its head with three goals in 16 second-half minutes.

Steffi Simson, Lucy Stevenson, and a Georgie Robb spot kick had United ahead until Aby Pickard slotted in an 82nd-minute equaliser.
