Plymouth Argyle Women Overcome Burnley to Reach the Cup Final

Plymouth Argyle Women came from behind to beat Burnley 4-1 and secure a place in the FA WNL Cup Final, Cheadle and Moneyfields reached the Plate Final.

Millie Ravening put Burnley ahead at Home Park with a strike from very long range, but Tianna Teisar pulled Argyle level in added time at the end of the first half. Teisar completed a brace, as did teammate Phoebie Poole, as Plymouth confirmed their place in the final, at QPR’s Loftus Road Stadium on 28 March.

Cheadle and Moneyfields both beat Premier Division sides to reach the Plate Final. Kenzie Bentley and Rebekah Coe scored as the Stingers saw off Halifax, while the Moneys defeated Gwalia United with goals from Shannon Albuery and Brooke Garcia.

Armani Maxwell earned Middlesbrough a Northern Premier point at Rugby after taking the lead through Ebony Wiseman, while Sporting Khalsa came back from a two-goal deficit to hold Hull City to a draw.

The mid-table Southern Premier match saw Lewes cancel out an Exeter City opener for a 1-1 tie.

Wythenshawe went from fourth to first in a tight Division One North title race, with a 4-1 result at Norton, who had Eve Marshall dismissed. Durham Cestria moved into the top half of the table with a 5-1 victory at Blackburn, while Doncaster won a relegation ‘six-pointer’ at York City to sit within a point of their hosts.

Peterborough hit hosts Lincoln United for six to pile pressure on Division One Midlands leaders Boldmere, while Northampton edged Kidderminster to leapfrog them into ninth spot.

Norwich City just got the better of QPR to knock Fulham off the top of Division One South East. Chatham Town pulled off a 3-0 win at Cambridge United despite going down to 10. Dulwich are up two places to eighth after a 2-1 win at Chesham United, while Luton were held 3-3 by next-to-bottom AFC Sudbury.

Maidenhead did Division One South West leaders Moneyfields a big favour by halting Swindon Town’s 12-game winning run with a 1-0 reverse. as Megan Harper got the goal. Bristol Rovers drew 0-0 with Bridgwater in the meeting of third and fourth, while Ascot beat Marine Academy.
