Olga Ahtinen has signed a new, long-term contract with Spurs Women for whom the Finland international has made 55 appearances to date.

Head Coach Martin Ho told tottenhamhotspur.com: “We are delighted that Olga has committed her future to the club. She is a central midfielder who gives us real energy, intensity and balance in the middle of the pitch, with the ability to impact the game box-to-box both in and out of possession.

“Over the past 12 months, we have been really impressed by her professionalism, her commitment to improving, and the way she consistently puts the team first. Olga brings a strong mentality every day, trains with purpose, and has the technical quality, work ethic and tactical understanding to keep growing within the direction we are building.

“We believe there is still more to come from her, and we are excited to continue supporting her development as an important part of our squad moving forward.”

Ahtinen said: “I’m happy that I get to be a part of the journey that we’re on. This season we’ve really taken steps in the way we play, our day-to-day life has been good and challenging, it’s been the right place for me to become a better footballer.

“The things that we’re doing on a daily basis really show that we’re going to be able to compete. We just want to get better every day.”
