Nottingham Forest Women have signed goalkeeper Sophia Poor on a season-long loan from London City Lionesses.

After spells with Leicester City and Aston Villa, she originally joined London City on loan and made 12 starts during their title-winning campaign.

She has represented England at U-17 and U-19 levels, featuring in the UEFA Women’s U17 Championship in 2023.

Head coach, Carly Davies, told nottinghamforest.co.uk: “We’re really pleased to welcome Sophia to the club ahead of the new season.

“Sophia is a talented young goalkeeper who brings composure, sharp reflexes, and a real presence in the box. She’s shown great potential and maturity so far in her career, and we believe she has all the attributes to thrive in our environment.

“We’re excited to have her on board and look forward to seeing her grow and contribute to what we’re building this season.”

Poor added: “I’m delighted to join, it’s a really ambitious club and I can’t wait to get started.

“I’m looking forward to working with the keepers here and hopefully I can learn a lot from both Emily [Batty] and Georgie [Ferguson] this season.”
