North West Women’s League Premier: Trio Secure Back-to-Back Wins

AFC Fylde, Mancunian Unity and Tranmere Rovers all made it back-to-back wins at the start of the North West Women’s League Premier Division campaign.

Premier Division

Fylde hit Fleetwood for six on Wednesday evening, Mancunian Unity just got the better of Crewe Alexandra and Tranmere Rovers took the points 2-1 against Poulton Victoria.

Ava Hanson got the decider as Bury beat Darwen watched by 122 fans at Gigg Lane, FC United of Manchester opened their account with a 4-2 result at Bolton Wanderers, West Didsbury & Chorlton also putting first points on the board after a arrow defeat of Curzon Ashton.

Four teams have 100% records after two games, led by FC St. Helens who put eight past Pilkington aided by Ashley Beard’s hat-trick.

Four-goal Rochdale and Atherton continued their winning starts, substitutes Jodie Mortimer and Katy Revel scored as Mossley Hill beat MSB Woolton 3-1 for successive victories. Millie Leytham’s 84th-minute breakthrough saw Ashton Town beat Wigan Athletic in front of a crowd of 125.

Preston have two wins from two after sending Morecambe to a 5-0 defeat to lead the table on goal-difference, from high-scoring Bolton Wanderers Reserves (who thrashed Chorley Development) and Blackpool following their 3-2 derby win over Fleetwood Town Wrens Reserves.

Penrith got off the mark with a 2-1 success against Workington Town.

Runcorn Linnets 3-3 Liverpool Feds Reserves

Nantwich Town are the only side with perfect form after two games, as they beat AFC Crewe 4-0 while all other games were drawn. Beth Middleton came off the bench to score for Runcorn Linnets as they held Liverpool Feds Reserves 3-3, Macclesfield and Altrincham are up and running after a 1-1 tie, while Manchester Laces and Warrington Town stay unbeaten after sharing four goals.
