Mexico won the first of a double-header in Australia with a stoppage-time breakthrough from Diana Ordóñez.
Nigeria edged Senegal 2-1 with goals from Asisat Oshoala from the spot and Toni Payne, before a late consolation.
Haiti beat New Zealand 2-1 in Spain as Claudia Bunge’s goal approaching half-time was replied to before the break by Nérilia Mondésir, and Lourdjina Étienne netted a 47th-minute decider.
Japan scored five goals against South Africa, with two each from Kiko Seike and Aoba Fujino, and one from Momoko Tanikawa.

Jamaica won 1-0 over Panama with a first-half goal from Shania Hayles.
Jordan came back from a 3-1 deficit at the break to defeat Malaysia 4-3 in stoppage time.
