Manchester United Women level late on in friendly with Liverpool Women

Manchester United Women drew 2-2 with Liverpool Women in a pre-season friendly, Brighton and Everton won in Spain and Denmark respectively.

Simi Awujo took advantage of a defensive error to give United an early lead, Ceri Holland equalised with a fine strike into the far top corner.

Cornelia Kapocs perhaps bettered that with a shot from outside the box but from a Keira Barry cross Ella Toone volleyed the hosts back on level terms.

Everton were 3-0 victors over FC Midtjylland, where Honoka Hayashi scored inside five minutes from Katie Robinson’s delivery.

Hayashi would soon turn provider for Yuka Momiki to chip the goalkeeper, before Ornella Vignola rifled home the third still i/n the first half.

Brighton beat Spanish top-flight team CF Alhama, where their two goals before the break proved sufficient.

Kiko Seike’s pull-ball set up Madison Haley for a tap-in, the second following quickly as Rachel McLauchlan found Fran Kirby who placed the ball inside the far post.

In the latter stages the home side replied, Kuki Rodriguez hitting Sophie Baggaley’s top corner from distance.
