Andrée Jeglertz has agreed to become Manchester City’s new head coach following Denmark’s campaign at UEFA Women’s EURO 2025.
He is a former professional player with the likes of Malmö FF, who later led Umeå to UEFA Women’s Cup success, while also winning four successive league titles and the Swedish Cup.
Finland women’s manager for six years, the Swede was placed in charge of Denmark after the 2023 World Cup.
Jeglertz told mancity.com: “Manchester City are one of the biggest in the world, but also the way that Therese [Sjogran] and Charlotte [O’Neill] are presenting the club, what it stands for, what they want from a coach and everything that’s connected to football, there are a lot of things that make me excited about the job.
“I’m extremely excited to meet the players, the staff and of course the fans. I will do everything I can to take this to the next level and continue the journey that has been started, making sure we can play attractive and winning football.”
Manchester City Women Director of Football, Therese Sjogran, said: “Andrée brings a wealth of experience at the top of the game as well as a real hunger to drive Manchester City forward.
“I’ve seen his work first hand at Umeå, Finland and Linköpings, so can understand why he’s already had a lot of success at club level. It’s clear he’s determined to build on that here at City in the coming years.
“Andrée really impressed us with his attitude and ambition, and the way he sees the game aligns perfectly with our own vision.”
