Man Utd Women beat hosts Hammarby in the UWCL 2nd Qualifying Round, third-place group wins for Hibernian and Athlone Town put both through to the Europa Cup.
United’s Elisabeth Terland brought an early save out of Melina Loeck, the Reds scrambled to keep out a ball to the far post and Sofia Reidy hit the crossbar for the Swedish hosts during a goalless first half.
Celin Bizet Dønnum got through and shot at the keeper, Melvine Malard put the rebound well over the top but would hook a deep delivery back across goal for Terland to bury.
Loeck tipped over a late strike from Toone, with United then resisting some late pressure to secure victory.
Kathleen McGovern’s hat-trick saw Hibernian see off Apollon by the odd goal in five at Paphos.
McGovern fired Hibs ahead from 20 yards, Apollon were level by the break through Steffi Hardy but McGovern got her second three minutes after the restart with a glancing header from Caley Gibb’s cross.
Kirsten Reilly made a crucial block to preserve the advantage with five minutes of the 90 to go, McGovern then completing her hat-trick when nodding home the rebound from an Eilidh Adams effort.
Hardy got her second three minutes into stoppage time but Hibs had doe enough to remain in European competition.

Athlone Town beat Crvena Zvezda 2-0 to secure qualification to the new UEFA Women’s Europa Cup, Kelly Brady and Roisin Molloy with the goals.
The draw for the third qualifying rounds will be made from 11am BST at uefa.com on Sunday 31 August.
