Man City and Man Utd Women start with wins at World Sevens Football

Manchester City and Manchester United both won their opening matches at World Sevens Football in Portugal.

Group 1

Manchester City 4-0 Rosengård
Ajax 2-4 Bayern Münich

Group 2

Roma 2-3 Manchester United
Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 Benfica 

Manchester City kicked off the World Sevens Football tournament in Estoril with a 4–0 win over FC Rosengård. Aoba Fujino quickly struck the first from distance before Kerolin bagged a brace and Aemu Oyama completed the scoring. 

Bayern Münich beat Ajax 4-1 despite having gone behind to a opener from Lotte Keukelaar. Regina van Eijk conceded an own-goal, Glódís Viggósdóttir, Tuva Hansen and Linda Dallmann all on target for Bayern, before Lily Yohannes replied.

Manchester United let slip a two-goal lead against Roma before getting the winner. Celine Bizet and Ella Toone netted in swift succession, Manuela Giugliano replying via the crossbar then levelling with her second goal. But Grace Clinton came up with the decisive goal for United.

PSG beat Benfica 2-1 when coming back from a Lara Martins goal, with efforts from Baby Jordy Benera and Frøya Dorsin.
