Thousands of fans cast their votes to name Lucy Bronze as the England Women’s Player of the Year 2024–25.

In a historic year for the Lionesses, Bronze was voted by fans as the standout player, finishing ahead of Chloe Kelly and Hannah Hampton, who placed second and third respectively.

The defender made 16 appearances – 15 of which were starts – for the Lionesses throughout the 2024–25 season, finding the net five times.

Bronze was presented the award by Georgia Stanway in front of the Lionesses players and staff at St. George’s Park, with Stanway praising Bronze’s leadership and impact on the team.

Bronze told englandfootball.com: “I wasn’t expecting it but it’s always nice to get recognition, especially from England fans. I adore playing for England and I have put my heart and soul into every game over the last 12 years. In that respect, it’s a huge honour and especially after such a crazy year with the EUROs. I’m very proud.

“For me, 2015 was a real starting point as an England player; 2019, I feel like that’s when I was hitting my peak as an individual, but this year has been something that I couldn’t have imagined. The way we won the EUROs, the noise around it and women’s football in general this year has been out of this world.”
