Ipswich Town have signed midfielder Jenna Dear, who spent the past two seasons with Barclays Women’s Super League 2 side Sunderland.

She came through the ranks at Chelsea before a short loan with Watford, followed by moves to Everton and Sheffield FC.

After a spell with Vålerenga in Norway, she had two seasons in France at FC Fleury 91 and Dijon FCO.

Dear told itfc.co.uk: “I’m really happy to have signed for Ipswich and can’t wait to get started.

“It’s such an exciting project here and I’m really looking forward to being a part of the club’s first ever season in the second tier.”

Manager Joe Sheehan commented: “We’re delighted to have signed Jenna. She has good experience having played at a high level in various leagues and countries, and she will be a strong addition to the squad.”
