Ipswich Town Women were 4-1 winners away to Watford in the Subway Players Cup.

The result in the Group Stage saw Ipswich climb to the 11th spot and Watford slip to 16th in the 23-strong table.

Jenna Slattery found the bottom corner from distance for Ipswich inside the first 10 minutes.

She struck another effort from an identical position, but this time goalkeeper Naomi Williams tipped it over the bar.

Watford were back on level terms within five minutes as Saoirse Noonan headed home via a Aoibheann Clancy corner.

Rosella Ayane had a swing and a miss for Ipswich just outside the six-yard box.

Early in the second half, Watford’s Lachante Paul forced the ball goalward, but Paige Peake cleared.

But the visitors soon regained the advantage as Jenna Dear rifled home after being gifted possession.

Ayane intercepted a pass to start a counterattack and played in Princess Ademiluyi, who finished calmly to extend the advantage.

Georgia Timms scored a late fourth with a deflected effort, leaving Ipswich just short of Birmingham City in the table on goals scored.
