Ipswich Town Women have signed Moroccan international forward Rosella Ayane from Leicester City.
Ayane made her senior debut for Chelsea and went on loan to Millwall, Bristol City, and Everton before making a permanent move to Apollon Limassol in Cyprus, where she netted 19 goals in 19 games.
She returned to England to re-sign for the Robins before moving to Spurs, where she made over 100 appearances and played a key role in helping the team reach a Women’s FA Cup final.
Internationally, Ayane played for England’s age group sides, before committing to Morocco, for whom she has over 30 caps.
She took part in the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations and scored the decisive penalty of the final to secure a first appearance at a World Cup.
Sean Burt, Technical Director, told itfc.co.uk: “We’re thrilled to welcome Rosella to the club.
“She’s a player we identified early in the process as someone who could add real quality to the group, so we’re delighted to finally have her with us.
“Her ability to play across a number of positions in the front line gives us real versatility, while the wealth of experience she brings from both the domestic and international game will be invaluable to the squad.”
Ayane said: “I think I can add some pace across the forward line and I love to make things happen in the final third.
“When I played at Colchester last season I remember the atmosphere being really good and now I can’t wait to experience it as a home player.”
