Huddersfield Town Women moved to the top of the FA WNL Division One North on goal-difference from Leeds United after a narrow win against battling Doncaster Rovers Belles.

Halifax lost at Stoke in the Northern Premier and were overtaken by Derby, whose only goal at next-to-bottom Loughborough put the Rams level on points with Liverpool Feds in eighth. Shannon Stamps, Evie Priestley, Lucia Molinari and Milly Round were on target for the fourth-placed Potters, while Liv Edwards scored Derby’s goal after the break.

Huddersfield took over from Leeds at the top of Division One North on goal difference, after scoring the only goal of the game at 11th-placed Doncaster through Louise Biggins in the first half.

Durham Cestria beat fifth-placed Stockport with two quick goals to climb to seventh spot. Emily Hutchinson was on target for the hosts, Jess Battle replying late on.

Peterborough cut Boldmere’s lead at the top of Division One Midlands to two points with two games still in hand, as they saw off Notts County with a Jess Rousseau double and a goal by Hayley James.

Sutton Coldfield’s 3-1 win at Kidderminster moved them up to seventh. Eva Cassidy’s opener was quickly replied to by Beth Grady, but Chloe Dann and a second by Cassidy secured maximum points.

Evie Gallop forced an own goal after half an hour, as Leafield edged relegation-threatened Northampton to move up two places to third.
