Hearts Women Within Touching Distance of the SWPL Title

Hearts defeated Celtic to move just one win away from clinching the ScottishPower SWPL title, while Glasgow City suffered a loss to Hibernian.

Georgia Timms’ early goal for Hearts was answered by a Saoirse Noonan penalty, but Lauren Wade secured the winner before the break.

Glasgow City clawed back from a two-goal deficit at Hibernian, where Eilidh Adams and Kathleen McGovern had scored before goals from Abi Harrison and Codie Thomas levelled the match, only for Tegan Bowie’s stoppage-time winner to dash City’s title hopes.

Rangers are three points ahead of Glasgow City after a 3-0 win at Partick Thistle, with Laura Berry, Jodi McLeary, and Mia McAulay finding the net.

Motherwell jumped ahead of Montrose into seventh place after defeating them 2-1 away, with goals from Tegan Browning and Carla Boyce. Kaela McDonald-Nguah pulled one back, but teammate Jade McLaren was shown a red card.

Aberdeen put four goals past Hamilton, with Darcie Miller, Francesca Ogilvie, Hannah Stewart, and Bridget Galloway all finding the net.

Ahead of the final day, Kilmarnock’s lead was cut to a single point as they went down at home to Boroughmuir Thistle, while Spartans cut the gap with a draw at Gartcairn.
