The FA Women’s National League fixtures that survived the weather on Thursday featured a precious point for Gwalia United at Cheltenham Town, where they retrieved a two-goal deficit and survived a late dismissal.

Middlesbrough gained ground on fourth-placed Stoke City in the Northern Premier Division with a 3–2 victory at Halifax. Boro’s Becky Ferguson scored in the first minute and Armani Maxwell made it 2-0. Phoebe Hollin replied with a penalty but substitute Ellen Turnbull restored the two-goal cushion before Danielle Whitham got the visitors’ second goal.

Gwalia United’s 2–2 fightback at Cheltenham Town leaves them two points above the Southern Premier Division relegation zone, but AFC Wimbledon have a game in hand. Georgia Galley and Indie Power had Town two up but Georgia Walters and Keira O’Keefe hit back for Gwalia, who held on after Amina Vine was shown a red card in the 87th minute. The result lifted the hosts to eight and level on points with Exeter City in seventh.

Worcester City are goal-difference behind fifth-placed Sheffield FC in Division One Midlands, their 2–0 win at Kidderminster leaving the Harriers four points above the bottom two and with Stourbridge having played two fewer games. Maia Clark broke the deadlock in first-half stoppage time and Annie Sime doubled the lead.

Portishead remain in the Division One South West drop zone but are now within three points of Keynsham Town, whom they beat 2–1.
