Glasgow City Bow Out of Europa Cup After Extra Time

Glasgow City took Sporting CP to extra time in the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup Round of 16 before being beaten 4-2 on aggregate.

Nicole Kozlova had given Glasgow City the lead just before half-time, but Telma Encarnação equalised in the 73rd minute with the first of her two goals, while Carla Armengol also found the target for the Lisbon side.

Sparta Prague pulled off a remarkable turnaround at BSC YB Frauen, overcoming a 3-0 first leg deficit to go 4-3 overall as Michaela Khýrová hit a hat-trick.

Breiðablik also progressed 4-3 over two legs after forcing extra-time against Fortuna Hjørring, with Sam Smith scoring twice and Edith Kristjánsdóttir netting the decider.
