Ahead of Wales’ first appearance at a UEFA Women’s Euro finals, the FAW launch a new campaign entitled Gêm For Her. Gêm For You.
It is a new campaign that isn’t just about participation – it’s about belonging. A campaign that is designed to welcome, inspire and empower women and girls across Wales to find their place in football and get involved in the game.
Whether it’s playing, coaching, refereeing, supporting as a fan or working behind the scenes, there’s a place for every woman and girl in football. Gêm For Her. Gêm For You. is a campaign that celebrates the stories of women and girls that have already made their mark in the game but also aims to inspire others to make their first step into football.
The campaign creative features women and girls who are involved in football in Wales in a variety of ways to celebrate and recognise their unique journeys and experiences in football. Using real life stories the campaign aims to spark confidence in other women and girls to pursue their place in the game.
As part of the Our Wales: For Her strategy the FAW is committed to continuing to provide opportunities for women and girls in Wales. Gêm For Her. Gêm For You., part funded by the Welsh Government’s EURO 2025 partner support fund, will provide a series of free opportunities to get involved this summer and beyond.
Wales Captain, Angharad James said: “Cymru qualifying for the EURO 2025 this summer is so much bigger than just the football on the pitch – it’s about showing women and girls across the country that this game is for them too.
“Whether they want to play, coach, referee, work behind the scenes or support from the sides, I want every girl and woman in Wales to know there’s a place for them in this game, whatever role they want to play.”
FAW Women and Girls’ Football Strategic Lead, Bethan Woolley added: “This campaign is about more than football – it’s about visibility, opportunity, and belonging. We want every woman and girl in Wales to see themselves reflected in the game and know that there’s a place for them, whether that’s on the pitch, on the sidelines, or behind the scenes.
“With Cymru reaching the UEFA Women’s EURO finals for the first time, we have a moment to inspire lasting change. Gêm for Her. Gêm for You. is our commitment to ensuring that this isn’t just a moment – it’s the start of something bigger for the future of women’s and girls’ football in Wales.”
