Everton have signed Spain U-23s and former Barcelona winger Ornella Vignola from Liga F side Granada.

A EURO U-19 and U-20 World Cup winner, Vignola has scored four goals in her last three games for Spain U-23s.

Vignola told evertontv: “I am very happy to join Everton. I am really looking forward to getting to know the team and the fans, and to play and contribute as much as I can.

“The English league is well known for its competitiveness and I’m really looking forward to making my debut. I am super excited about this new challenge.

“It is a great opportunity for me, I am really looking forward to getting to know Brian and the way he works. I hope I can get a lot of minutes under him and be a key part of this team.”

Toffees boss Brian Sorensen told evertonfc.com: “Ornella is a really promising talent who has shown her capabilities in big games.

“She is one of the most exciting upcoming players and is crucial to my plans for next season. She is a direct forward, who is not afraid to take her marker on and is a joy to watch when in full flow.”

Meanwhile, Kelly Gago has signed a new three-year contract with the Toffees, Aurora Galli and Lucy Hope extending their stay by another season.

France forward Gago is in her country’s squad for the EUROs, Italy international midfielder Galli is fit again after sustaining an ACL injury on the opening day of last season, while Scotland’s Hope continues light training before taking time off due to pregnancy.
