England went down 3-2 to Germany in a warm-up match to next month’s WU19 EUROS played at the DFB Campus in Frankfurt.

Germany struck twice in a five-minute spell midway through the first half, Melina Kruger credited with the first which was fumbled over the line by goalkeeper Katie Cox, Tessa Zimmermann fizzing a 25-yard strike into the bottom corner for the second.

Princess Ademiluyi had a shot parried by keeper Thea Farwick and her rebound was headed off the line, before another follow up effort was saved.

England did halve the deficit close to the break, Ademiluyi meeting Mari Ward’s cross to finish at the near post.

Lauryn Thompson was brought down in the box late on, Rachel Maltby stepped to convert into the bottom corner.

England begin their EURO WU19 Finals group games against Netherlands on 15 June.
