Promising young defender Ella Morris has committed her future to Spurs Women by signing a new long-term contract.
Morris joined Spurs from Southampton in July 2024 and earned her first call-up to the Lionesses senior squad in May last year. She is currently recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury that has ruled her out since the end of last season.
Morris told tottenhamhotspur.com: “I’m very excited. It’s an amazing club to be a part of. Just seeing the growth of the team from last season to this season, how Martin [Ho] has come in and given the girls a sense of belief. It’s an exciting time to be a part of it, where we’re pushing in the league now. It’s definitely a club with ambition, and a club I want to be a part of.”
Head Coach Martin Ho said: “Ella is one of the most exciting young full-backs in the country and we are absolutely delighted that she has committed her future to Tottenham Hotspur. To earn a Lionesses call-up at such a young age says everything about her quality, and the way she has attacked her ACL recovery shows the mentality we value so highly here.
“From a football perspective, Ella gives us a rare profile, she is dynamic, powerful and brave, with the ability to defend at intensity and also impact the game in the attacking third. Her athleticism, timing of forward runs and quality in possession allow her to stretch teams, create overloads and bring real threat down the flank.
“We also believe she has significant scope to keep developing here, and our staff are excited about the areas we can add even more value to her game as she moves into the next phase of her career. As she returns to full fitness, we see Ella as a huge part of our future, and we can’t wait to have her back on the grass with the group again very soon.”
