Wales Women drew their first 2027 World Cup Qualifier 2-2 away to Czech Republic with a very late leveller from Elise Hughes.

Wales were punished for failing to deal with a corner after 16 minutes, as Eva Bartonova turned the ball home for the hosts.

But they were back on level terms before the half-hour mark, when Lily Woodham’s cross was put away by Hannah Cain.

Bartonova set up Jana Zufankova to restore the lead early in the second half.

Carrie Jones forced goalkeeper Olivie Lukasova to push her shot round the post but in stoppage time Elise Hughes headed home a Gemma Evans cross to rescue a point.
