Durham have signed former England U-23 winger Angela Addison from promotion-winning Ipswich Town.

Helping Ipswich into Barclays WSL2 last season, she has previously won the second tier title with Tottenham Hotspur.

She played over 60 times for Spurs and was approaching 50 games with Charlton Athletic, before the move to Ipswich where she scored seven goals in 16 appearances.

Addison told durhamwfc.co.uk: “Durham are obviously a strong side and I look forward to working with them this season.

“They’re a strong, established team and have been for many years. Playing against them has always been tough, so that appealed to me.

“The WSL is expanding so we’re looking to do some big things this season.”
