Derby County Women Edge Liverpool Feds After Late Lucy Jones Penalty Save

Derby County Women goalkeeper Lucy Jones saved a stoppage-time penalty to protect their narrow lead away to ten-player Liverpool Feds.

Burnley retained the top spot as Millie Ravening’s 80th-minute header secured their victory at Stoke, while Wolves triumphed at Halifax with two goals in the first eight minutes.

Lily Greenslade bagged a brace for Rugby at Hull, fifth drew with fourth as West Brom’s Hannah George cancelled out a goal from Middlesbrough’s Armani Maxwell.

Derby moved level on points with Liverpool Feds, whom they defeated away from home with a Hannah Ward goal. Feds had Katie Anderson sent off before Lucy Jones saved their late penalty. Sporting Khalsa secured the only goal in the basement battle against Loughborough through Daisy Wickett, as they climbed out of the drop zone.

AFC Bournemouth stayed top on goal difference with five unanswered goals at Wimbledon, while Watford secured a 2-0 victory at Oxford where Izzy Fisher’s opener was added to at the death by Annie Meiwald.

Five-goal Plymouth remained five points off the leading pair, watched by well over 1,000 fans. Hashtag United secured a solid 2-0 victory at Real Bedford.

Cheltenham edged Lewes 2-1 with the decider from Amelie Curtis to go three points clear of them, while Exeter sank Billericay 7-0 led by a Sophie Gillies hat-trick.

Peterborough’s seventh straight win came with a 3-1 victory over Boldmere, as they opened up a two-point lead at the top with Barnsley held to a goalless draw at Sutton Coldfield. Leafield’s 3-1 victory at Kidderminster moved them up to third, Sheffield FC smashed Lincoln United with six goals, Notts County netted three against Northampton and Stourbridge held Worcester to a 1-1 draw.

Wythenshawe’s 2-1 victory at Doncaster put them level on points with leaders Cheadle, who were held to a 0-0 draw at home by Chorley. Huddersfield are within a point of the top side after their win over Chester-le-Street, while Leeds and Stockport also gained ground with away wins at Durham Cestria and York respectively. Blackburn suffered an eighth straight defeat but narrowly lost 2-1 to Norton.

London Bees secured a win with the only goal at Luton, and Dulwich did the same against MK Dons. The West London derby between Actonians and QPR ended in a goalless draw, while the match between Cambridge and Chatham was abandoned due to a serious injury to the U’s Brooke Cheal-Ferris.

Bournemouth Sports’ Rosie Eden scored the only goal at Ascot, Bridgwater took the points 2-1 at Abingdon, Maidenhead also secured a narrow victory, 3-2 at basement side Portishead.
