Cliftonville recovered a two-goal deficit to defeat Glentoran 4-2 at Seaview and win the VBET Women’s Premiership League Cup for a record-breaking third successive season.

Glentoran were ahead just four minutes in, taking advantage of a defensive mix up for Emily Wilson to finish.

Wilson struck again just after the half-hour mark, when she got on the end of a Demi Vance through ball to send a powerful finish past goalkeeper Rachael Norney.

Cliftonville went close after the break, when Teegan Lynch crashed an effort off the crossbar from close range.

Moments later the holders did have a goal back, as Naomi McLaughlin played in Caitlin McGuinness to unleash an impressive effort into the bottom corner.

Caitlin McGuinness scored again just after the hour mark to level the scores, getting her head to a McLaughlin corner at the near post.

The comeback was completed with just over six minutes remaining, McLaughlin’s free-kick knocked on by Fionnula Morgan for Marissa Callaghan to head beyond Ashleigh McKinnon.

Carla Devine then wrapped the scoring up in added time when found by McLaughlin.
