Chelsea Women Thrash Roma, Man Utd Women Lose to Lyon

Chelsea Women hit Roma for six to reach the last eight of the UWCL, Man Utd Women lost 3-0 at home to Lyon.

Chelsea were ahead against Roma through an own goal by Valentina Bergamaschi, Wieke Kaptein doubled the lead and Johanna Rytting Kaneryd made it 3-0 by half-time. Sjoeke Nusken scored from the spot, with Maika Hamano and Lucy Bronze further extended the advantage.

Manchester United fell behind to Lyon from a Tabitha Chawinga header, Melchie Dumornay adding a late brace against the Reds who were already into the play-offs for the quarter-finals.

Barcelona’s Ewa Pajor scored before SL Benfica levelled through Chandra Davidson, only for Christy Ucheibe to concede an own goal. Alexia Putellas put Barca 3-1 up to seal the tie.

Vålerenga’s Karina Sævik was sent off in first half added time for violent conduct. Lorena Azzaro converted an 81st minute penalty for Paris FC.

Atletico Madrid’s Vilde Bøe Risa netted a penalty against Bayern Munich, but Pernille Harder turned the game around with a second-half brace, only for Fiamma Benítez to equalise in the 88th minute.

While the top four sides are through to the quarter-finals, teams finishing fifth to 12th compete in a two-legged knockout phase play-off in February, with the draw for this to be made on 18 December.
