Chelsea have taken options to extend the contracts of Ashanti Akpan and Aimee Claypole, while two others depart and the destination of a third is confirmed.

Akpan has been with the Blues since the age of seven and spent last season on loan at Championship runners-up Birmingham City. The midfielder has represented England from U-15s to U-19 level, captaining the latter.

Aimee Claypole similarly has her contract extended by a year to 2026. The England U-19 forward was also loaned out twice last term, which featured Champions League experience for Swedish side Linkoping and being nominated for Championship Player of the Season for her performances with Durham.

Lucy Watson and Greta Humphries have left Chelsea at the end of their contracts. Watson had been on loan to Ipswich Town whom she helped win promotion to WSL2, Humphries played her part in Charlton Athletic finishing third in the second tier.

After four years with Chelsea, Swedish goalkeeper Zećira Mušović has joined Malmö on a three-year deal.
