Chelsea Women have confirmed the signing of French international forward Melvine Malard from Manchester United on a four-year contract.
The four-time Champions League winner with Lyon has made 21 goal contributions in 57 WSL appearances so far and scored 17 goals in 46 UWCL games, as well as lifting the FA Cup with Man Utd.
At international level, Malard has 41 caps and 14 goals, and played at both Euro 2022 and Euro 2025.
Malard told chelseafc.com: ‘I’m so happy because I have a plan for my life and my career, and Chelsea were a part of that plan.”
‘I have played against Chelsea a lot of times and have always lost so I know the team have good players. And I have known Sonia [Bompastor] since I was 14 years old, so it is great to work with her again.
‘I am also really looking forward to playing at Stamford Bridge on a regular basis. The atmosphere is incredible and the pitch is close to the fans, so you really feel their energy. I love that.’
