Charlton Women’s bid to replace Leicester City in the Barclays WSL will be witnessed by their largest-ever home attendance.

The play-Off showdown at The Valley comes after the Addicks let slip a top-two spot on the final day of the WSL 2 campaign, dropping into third place.

Leicester City finished bottom of the top flight, but with the expansion to 14 teams next season, the Foxes have the chance for a reprieve against relegation.

However, they’ll have to do it in front of a bigger crowd than Charlton’s previous home record of 3,710 in 2003 against Arsenal.

Charlton will be without defender Charlotte Newsham who sustained serious injury during the last WSL2 fixture against Birmingham City.

Leicester have Ashleigh Neville back after suspension, and Janina Leitzig resumed training in midweek, but Alisha Lehmann will miss out due to injury.

The match kicks off at 12:30 pm on Saturday, 23 May, live on BBC, Sky Sports, and WSL YouTube.
