Jodie Hutton scored for Charlton with a great strike hit from outside the corner of the box.

Hutton found the net a second time approaching the last 20 minutes, heading home a Mary McAteer cross.

Sheffield United secure their first win after seeing off a fightback from ten-player Ipswich Town

Charlie Devlin scored the opener for Sheffield, Amy Andrews doubled the advantage from an Ella Kinzett delivery by half time/

Five minutes after the interval, Andrews got her second and the Blades’ third following a Mollie Rouse through ball.

Rianna Dean got Ipswich right back in it with a seven-minute brace by the hour mark, Sophie Peskett setting up the first and a Paige Peake corner then nodded in.

But Ipswich were down to ten in the latter stages, with Beth Roe dismissed for violent conduct after a tussle with Tilly Bristow

Southampton win away to morning leaders Birmingham City

Atlanta Primus turned in a Saints’ corner to see them lead, straight after the interval it was 2-0 as Chloe Peplow returned goalkeeper Lucy Thomas’s clearance over her head from over 25 yards out.

Bristol City are up to fourth after a narrow win over Durham

Sophie Ingle sent Bristol one up with a finish after a corner from Gemma Lawley, they increased the advantage three minutes after half time when Vicky Losada nodded in Emily Syme’s cross.

Durham were back in it as Mollie Lambert exchanged passes with Hannah Blake before scoring with a deflected effort into the roof of the net.

Newcastle United netted two late goals to rescue a point at Crystal Palace.

Kirsty Howat made the breakthrough for Palace ten minutes into the second half, heading in an Annabel Blanchard cross.

Eagles’ substitute Mollie-Mae Sharpe marked her 100th appearance by making it 2-0 with her first touch of the match, after Josie Green’s blocked cross fell kindly for her.

Newcastle gave themselves late hope as Oona Sevenius swept home the cross by Morgan Gautrat, who deep into added time levelled direct from her corner kick.

Nottingham Forest came from behind to beat Portsmouth 4-1 and rise to third place.

Meg Hornby put Pompey ahead following a break led by Ella Rutherford, Forest equalised before the hour was up with Jessie Stapleton bundling in Vivienne Lia’s corner at the far post.

Forest had turned it around by the 77th minute and in some style, as Chantelle Boye-Hlorkah found the net from 35 yards.

Aimee Claypole and Hollie Olding made sure of the points for the hosts, with a goal each in stoppage time.
