Charlton Women have signed Australian international midfielder Emily van Egmond from Leicester City.
She has over 170 caps and 30 goals for her country, and has won domestic competitions in Australia, Germany, and the USA.
As well as playing for the Foxes in the UK, she has appeared for Birmingham City and West Ham, while further afield she had spells with the likes of Wolfsburg and multiple sides in the NWSL and A-League.
Van Egmond told cafc.co.uk: “I’m obviously excited for the new challenge and just can’t wait for the season to start.
“When I first initially spoke to Charlton, it was just the culture [that made me want to sign] and, to be honest with you, the winning mentality and the ambition the club has set.
“I think, at the moment, with where the WSL is, it’s probably the top, if not competing with the top two leagues in the world.”
