Cardiff took the lead when Mikayla Cook’s first-half cross was slid past her own goalkeeper Liz Craven by Erin Lovett.

Wrexham levelled on the hour mark when Katie Barker’s long free kick dropped for Faye Hillier-Knox, who had time to control and head it past keeper Ceryn Chamberlain.

With added time nearly gone, Nieve Jenkins set up substitute Fiona Barry to score a dramatic deciding goal.

The result cut Wrexham’s lead to two points, with the Bluebirds still having a game in hand.

Barry beat Pontypridd to climb to sixth, sending the visitors to their twelfth league defeat in a row. Beca Thomas, Erin Murray and Lucy Attwood scored for a 3-0 lead, Ponty pulled one back through Madison Lloyd but Ellie Gunney completed the scoring after 55 minutes.

Cardiff City will play their delayed tie with Trefelin on Wednesday, 7 January, with a 7:45 pm kick-off at the Cardiff International Sports Stadium.
