The 2026 SheBelieves Cup kicked off with a 4-1 victory for Canada over 10-player Colombia, before the USA defeated Argentina 2-0.

A Janine Sonis corner saw Vanessa Gilles glance home a header for Canada, Sonis herself making it 2-0 with a free kick.

Substitute Sydney Collins swiftly headed in the third, Leicy Santos replied from the penalty spot but Colombia’s Gisela Robledo was sent off and Nichelle Prince capitalised on the numerical advantage.

Emma Sears’ pass found Lindsey Heaps who fired past Solana Pereyra from outside the box to open the scoring for the US inside 20 minutes.

Jaedyn Shaw doubled the lead before the hour mark from outside the area, following a headed pass from Heaps.

Shaw had earlier had a goal ruled out for offside, and Ally Sentnor would later be similarly denied.

The competition continues on Wednesday 4 March, when Argentina versus Colombia is followed by USA against Canada.
