Bristol City have signed Maltese international forward Maria Farrugia on a two-year deal following her departure from Sheffield United.
She has played for other second-tier sides in Sunderland, Durham and Lewes, while clocking up 50 caps for her country.
Farrugia was nominated for Barclays Women’s Championship Player of the Season last term and scored its best goal actually against Bristol City.
Head Coach Charlotte Healy told bcfc.co.uk: “Maria’s track record in the division speaks for itself and she has an eye for goal as a creative player. She will add a lot of quality to our squad.
Farrugia commented: “When I had my first call with Bristol City, I knew it was the right move. When I heard about the aims and set up of the club, I knew it was the right step.
“I can’t wait to meet all of the players and staff and I’m exciting to get going and start working towards our aims.”
