Brighton Women have signed France youth international central defender Maelys Mpome from Chelsea.
Maelys joined Chelsea from Montpellier before the start of last season and made eight appearances for them in 2024/25 in the WSL, League Cup and Champions League. She was part of the Chelsea squad that won the domestic treble last season.
She played for Montpellier over four years and made her first senior France camp earlier in 2025.
Brighton head coach Dario Vidosic said: “We’re pleased to have Maelys with us. She’s had some exposure to the WSL already and we feel she can really develop with us. She’s a versatile defender with a lot of good attributes and we’re looking forward to working with her.”
