Birmingham City Women are the first team into the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Quarter-Finals after a comfortable victory over Chatham Town.
Chatham goalkeeper Simone Eligon did well to keep out efforts by Océane Hurtré and Lee Geum-Min, before the crossbar came to her rescue from a Veatriki Sarri shot.
But Hurtré found the breakthrough after 26 minutes, with her cross-shot flying straight in.
Amelia Woodgate forced a free-kick close to the hosts’ penalty box and later went down under a challenge in the area but did not get the decision.
Sarri doubled the lead early in the second half, with a tap-in from Lucy Quinn’s low cross.
Moments after Eligon tipped Lucy Quinn’s strike onto the bar, Hurtré caught Chatham playing out from the back and netted her second goal.
Batcheba Louis came off the bench to quickly make it 4–0, with a good touch and a drilled finish.
Otesha Charles got through for Chatham but Lucy Thomas made the save, before Hurtré completed her hat-trick with another angled effort and Lee took the tally to six.
Wilma Leidhammar found the net from 20 yards, Louis rounded the keeper to slot in her second goal and the Blues’ eighth.
The draw for the Quarter Finals will take place on Monday 23 February ahead of the London City Lionesses v Tottenham Hotspur fifth round fixture. For the first time this season, this will be broadcast live on TNT Sports 1 as well as streamed on the Adobe Women’s FA Cup YouTube channel, TNT Sports Football YouTube and Channel 4 Sport YouTube.
