Bonnyrigg Rose lead the Barclays Scottish Women’s League One title but face title rivals Armadale Thistle on the final day.

Bonnyrigg Rose are three points ahead at the top of the table after beating Queen of the South 4-1 in hot conditions at Poltonhall. They were ahead after five minutes after being awarded a penalty for a challenge on Jen Brown in the box, which Kazya Stevens converted. Queens were also awarded a penalty 25 minutes later but Rose keeper Denise Dudgeon saved well. In a flurry of activity that followed, Niamh Naysmith put Bonnyrigg 2-0 up before Charlotte Bryden pulled one back for Queens. Gabby Anderson restored the two-goal advantage just ahead of half-time with a long range effort before Caitlin Lowe added a second-half goal to complete the scoreline.

Armadale held off St Mirren at home by the same scoreline, with goals from Emma Macintyre and Meg Reilly as well as a double from the league’s top scorer Khya McGurk. Harper Kenny scored the consolation for the buddies at the start of the second half after a good solo run.

Inverurie Locos also won 4-1 at home to Dunipace, while Airdrie saw off Dundee West 5-1 and Kilwinning scored a late goal to rescue a point against Giffnock.

In the Barclays Scottish Women’s Championship, Stirling University have secured the SWPL2 play-off place after coming from behind to beat Renfrew Ladies 3-2 at home. Last weekend’s league cup finalists served up a thriller at the university ground, with both sides grabbing a penalty. Seeking retribution for the cup final loss, Renfrew had the better of the first half but tired in the final half-hour, with Olivia Forsyth grabbing the winner in the final five.

It was a late goal, too, by Angyl Learmonth at Alliance Park that secured three points for Glasgow Women against Inverness Caledonian Thistle. The highlanders had equalised through Iona Macarthur after Caitlin Crean had put the home side ahead on the half-hour mark., but Learmonth showed composure to strike in injury time to secure the win.

Westdyke are confirmed in the Championship relegation play-off spot, but did their preparations no harm with an impressive 3-1 win against Dryburgh in Dundee, while champions East Fife were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Falkirk. A Paige Henry goal gave Stenhousemuir a 1-0 win against Morton.

Dunfermline Athletic secured the SWFL Central title with an away win at Linlithgow Rose, cementing their place in the promotion play-off against Elgin City. Both Glenrothes Strollers and Edinburgh south won, which means the SWFL East title will be decided next week when they face each other in Fife. As well as being crowned, the winner will face SWFL West champions Bishopton in the promotion play-offs.
