Arsenal Women held Barclays WSL leaders Chelsea with a late equaliser but had two goals disallowed, while Aston Villa pulled off a victory over Man Utd.

Alyssa Thompson struck early on for Chelsea, chipping goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar.

A Beth Mead corner ended up requiring a sharp save from keeper Hannah Hampton to prevent an equaliser before Lucy Bronze cleared.

Catarina Macario hit the post and was denied by Van Domselaar, whose save led to the ball dropping on top of the crossbar.

Chelsea’s Wieke Kaptein forced a double save, Stina Blackstenius thought she had levelled but it was disallowed for handball.

Alessia Russo did finally get Arsenal’s goal with three minutes of the 90 to go, then Frida Maanum netted in added time in front of the 56,537 crowd at the Emirates – but was given offside.
