Young Stars To Watch Out For
She Kicks, issue 28, June 2015 pp.36–37
The magazine picks ten emerging players to watch, describing the list as slightly Eurocentric and arranging it alphabetically. France’s Griedge Mbock Bathy opens the selection after a swaggering Under-20 World Cup. Norway’s Ada Hegerberg is singled out because, with fellow trickster Caroline Graham Hansen absent through a knee injury, her audacious and exciting ingenuity up front will be invaluable. England’s Fran Kirby is included with the note that she turns 22 on 29 June and the hope she will be celebrating in Canada, flying the flag for Reading and WSL 2. Vivianne Miedema of the Netherlands is dismissed in two words as an absolute striking phenomenon, Asisat Oshoala is recalled as the best player and top scorer at the Under-20 World Cup, and South Korea’s Lee So Dam closes the list.
