Interview
Young Scots’ City Slicker (Carly Girasoli interview)
She Kicks, issue 55, August 2019 pp.64–65
Carly Girasoli was fifteen when Glasgow City moved her up from the academy to train with a first team she had watched from the stands, and seventeen when She Kicks caught up with her. In between she scored on her first senior start, against Rangers, after Scott Booth took a chance on her because of an injury; played seven Champions League matches, coming on against Anderlecht in the group stage; and scored as City clinched a twelfth consecutive league title. Nine years in a boys’ team, where she was the only girl in the league, made her think faster. She now trains three mornings and four evenings a week around school, and watched Scotland face England in Nice with five of her team-mates in the squad.
