Wynne’s World

Jen O’Neill interviews the Wales international shortly before her exit from Tottenham was confirmed, having waited more than six years between an international debut in 2013 and a first senior start in November 2019, then scoring her first Wales goal in a 2-0 friendly win over Estonia in March. Wynne recounts winning Bristol City’s Most Over-Hyped Goal of the Year award for it at an online end-of-season night. She is candid about a first top-flight season at Spurs falling short of hopes, being left out of the squad for the Arsenal game at the new stadium days after a Player of the Match debut start, and taking a large pay cut and moving back to her parents’ home to go full-time. She credits Millwall manager Lee Burch and Wales boss Jayne Ludlow, and discusses school friend Josie Green and her human resources career.
